Project 2- Alienware

Brand: Alienware

OS: Windows 8.1

Parts: Possibly all original. Inspected the inside of the laptop and some screws were missing from the back cover

Problem(s): OS will not start up. The screen glitches when the OS starts.

Plan of Action: Configure the Boot settings through the process of elimination. Use my bootable Windows 10 drive. Possible damage to the graphics card or the screen?

I kept the original partition of the device. There was enough memory. Windows saved the partition as "windows.old".

Solution: I plugged in my bootable USB with Windows 10 that I previously used on the Lenovo. The Alienware responded well and started to boot up and it set up and installed Windows 10 with no hiccup.

However, not everything can run smoothly in IT. Again when the laptop boots and starts the OS the screen turns black and sounds like it's restarting. And the disk drive (yes it has a disk drive), sounds like it's trying to run something or expecting something.

So back to the board to find out what is going on.
